“Persistent Organic Pollutants Waste” is a group of highly toxic and persistent chemicals that can have serious negative impacts on human health and the environment.
It came into legalisation from January 2023 that all pops waste is to be properly disposed of complying with the laws and regulations the Environment Agency have put into place its vital that specialised methods are conducted in these processes through high temperature incineration or are chemically treated to ensure these are not exposed or released in our environment.
Pops waste is commonly found in certain furniture, such as foam-filled couches, chairs, mattresses, beanbags etc.

WEEE Waste
WEEE waste stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment waste. It refers to any discarded electrical or electronic devices such as computers, televisions, mobiles and household appliances.
WEEE waste contains a variety of hazardous materials which can be very harmful to both human health and the environment if not properly disposed of. Secondly it conserves valuable resources as many electrical devices contain materials that can be recycled or reused. And thirdly it supports the development of the circular economy which we are very proud to be part of. Waste is minimised and materials are kept in use for as long as possible.
As a result we at KINGS BKS follow the regulations and guidelines in place to ensure all WEEE waste we collect are all inspected for reuse where we can donate to several charities or by contributing to The Circular Economy we bring them to designated licensed Waste Sites where we in fact are conducting a 95% diverted from landfill and are fully recycling these collections.
